NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE.

THE COMING CONGRESS' Tho twenty-eighth annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance and tho Dominion Congress in connection with it will be held in Wellington on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday uoxt week. About 200 delegates will be present. Air. Wesley Spragg will preside at most of the meetings, but at a large public meeting to be held in the Town Hall, tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luko) will tako the chair. Addresses will be delivered by Mr. L. M. Isitt, M.P., Mr. A. S. Malcolm, M.l'., Mr. J. M'Combs, M.P., Dr. Florence Keller (of Auckland), and Messrs. H. D.' Bedford, and C. H. Poole, The ordinary meotings will he held in St. John's Schoolroom. At tho Town Hall meeting a children's choir, conducted by Mr. Ernest Dawson, will sing. A convention tea will also be held in tho Town Hall. The other public event is be what is called "A March oii Parliament," to present a memorial asking for legislation to be passed early in the session removing the'handicap from the Prohibition vote—thus giving the Alliance what it claims as justico at tho ballotbox. Tho Prinie Minister has arranged to receive delegates at Parliament Buildings at noon on Friday next week. Amongst the subjects to be discussed at the congress will bo tho following :— "How Will National Prohibition Affect tho Revenue?" "How Will National Prohibition Affect Accommodation for tho Travelling Public?" "How Will National Prohibition Affect Labour in New Zealand?" "Is Prohibition Consistent With True Liberty of tho Subject?" and "The Attitudo of tho Press Towards tho Prohibition- Movement." The question of the attitudo of tho allianco towards candidates for Parliament will also bo considered. Tho Rov. 'J. Dawson, secretary, stat-. cd yesterday: "We expect that this will bo at once both tho largest and tho most representative meeting we have ever bad." i
