ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS
MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION. Tho annual meeting of the Roseneath Ratepayers' Association iVas held last night. Mr. F. W. Ward presided, and there were fourteen ratepayers present. In terms of a suggestion made at a, joint meeting of the- committees of the Hataitai and the Rosjmeaili Ratepayers' Associations on. the question of school accommodation, it was decided that a:s the districts of Hataitai and Roseneath were so closo together, and their interests were almost identical, the committee should approach, the Hataitai Ratspayers' Committee with the object, of arranging for occasional joint meetings of tho committees of the two assocjft* tions. One new member Was elected. Tho chairman, referring to the visit of the town planning emissaries, from Great Britain, said ho hoped the- association would take an interest in the movement. ,Ho hoped to be able to arrange to have a fectyto hy one of the. visitors in the district, possibly in' the Kiosk'. A proposal that the association jiSiii the Greater Wellington Municipal Elec* tors' Association found some support. The chairman urged that tho larger association was proceeding now along pro* per lines, and "had already tecowe an influential body in Biunicipftl politics. He suggested that if tte Roseneath Association were in tlia Greatet Wellington Association, the. members of the latter association could be relied upon to assist the Roseneath 'ratepayers to carry thoso of the loan proposals which would be of benefit to the Roseneath district. Finally, the motion was withdrawn, and Mr. G. Marras gavo notice to bring it forward at nest meeting af the association. The annual report was- adopted without discussion. The balattee-sheet showed that there was a oasis balance in hand of £8. Tho election of officers resulted as follow President, Mr. T. W. Ward: vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Cash man and D. Santy; secretary and treasurer, Mr, A. E. Shakes; comijiitt.ee, Messrs. W. A. Thompson, R, Taytor, t\ Stott, 1». AYatt, H. Spear, S. 11. Jenkrasan, S. S. \\ llliams, and S. Sutherland.
