Tho members appointed to lead tho discussion on tho different heads were as follow' Salaries (Mr. A. Erskino), better basis of payment (Mr. J. Tamblyn), appointments (Mr. Grundy or Mr. Webb), staffing (Mr. Macmorran), Council of Education (Mr. Parkinson and Miss Myers). . As letters had not been sent to country members of Parliament in tho Wellington district, it was decided fo in- : vito the following members:—Sir Walter Buchanan; Mr. G. It. Sykes, Mr. J. Mr. Harding (Levin) regretted that country teachers had not been included in those' selected to speak to the members cf Parliament.

Mr. Erskine -said that there was nothing to stop a country moniber speaking on any' subjects, provided ho had something to say which would "clinch tho argument" put forward by the main speaker. The chairman explained that tho condition was that the tour was not to cost the teachers more than £100 each, the rest to be made up bv tho Department, if they fell in with the idea. Of course tho teachers would liav<* to forego their salaries during the nine months they wero away. Tlio secretary was instructed to send on the replies to the Auckland Insitute.
