Wedding at Khandallah. A pretty wedding tool; pUt.ce at the Anglican-Church, Ivlinnduliqli, cm Jui.io 3, when Miss Mildred Ja.iie C'owk-s, sixth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 15. Cowles, of Khandallah, was mp-rriefl to Mr. Allan Randolph Oxley, of the Bank of New Zealand, To f'u!«, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L'\ A. Oxley, of Pieton. The brido wore cream satin granadinc, prettily draped and 1 rimmed with pearls, and wreath ait-sl veil.She was attended by Miss Q. Cowles, sister of the bride, and by Miss 0. Oxley, sister of the bridegroom. They wore pale pink crepo da eliine and mob caps of floral liinon. Mr. P, Oxley was best man, and Mr. J. C'owles acted-as groomsman. / The bride's gorog'-awiiy . dress was a navy blue costiMfio with hat of blue and black vclonrs. For tho Benefit of the Kindergartens. • A great many people were pres&ut at tho subscription dance which had been organised for the benefit of th& free kindergartens, and the Oriental Bay Kiosk, in which it was held 'last, evening, was somewhat taxed for room. After the blustering galo that had teen raging during the earlier part of kjs day, few dared hope for a tine evening, but on this occasion the crkso of the free kindergartens was kindly dealt with in regard to weather condition?., and people attended the dance accordingly. . The ballroom needs but- little decoration, and the loops aiid festbijns of lycopodium which wei'ft fastened to tho walls, alternating with mirrors and the curtained doorways, Were ait that was needed for decorative effect. Sup. per was laid in'tlie tearoom downstairs., the tables having been arranged frith' lycopodium, flowers, and scarlet streamers. The music was supplied by Mr, Williams' orchestra. The organising commit-too was fonnod by Lady Stout, Mesdames Herdman, H. 0, J3elL ')?, M. B. Fisher, J. Luke, Gill, J. Darling, Hobday, Napier M'Loan, 3. Hislop, Ito Latour, Dixon', Misses Coates, Massev, Cooper, Stout, and Luko.. The htm. secretary was Mrs. D. C. Hates.
