Thomas he was among the guests at the dinner givon by the Treasurer, Lord Justicc Kennedy, a,t Lincoln's Inn, 011 Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Clifford (brother, and sistor-in-law of Captain Clifford, of the Ruapehu), who have resided for many years in India, are leaving for a lengthy tour of New Zealand with thoir children, with the idea of eventually .settling there. Captain Clifford, who has been ill, is .progressing favourably, but is not going out with the Ruapehu this trip. Dr. C. A. Gould, of Now Zealand, has been made an out-patient officer at Guy's Hospital, and-Dr. Bcvan Brown is now an assistant- house-surgeon at the same hospital, Mrs. Whitney, wife of Mr. C. A. Whitney, of tho Colonial Ammunition Works at Auckland, has arrived in England with her son and daughter, having visited tho Continent en route. Mr. and Mrs. Staples Brown (formerly Miss Maggie Papakura) have returned to London after an extensive tour of Algeria and other places. Mr. A. C. Cameron, of the G.P.0., Wellington, is shortly expected in England on a nino months' tonr of tho United Kingdom and tho Continent. Ho'is accompanied by Mr. J, Scully, of the Invorcargill Office. Dr. L. B Stringei, of New Zealand, loft Guy's Hospital on Thursday for Japan on a sea voyage. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Holmes, of Dunedin, are on a trip to England which will extend over a year. Sister Ernestine, of Dunedin, jvlio has been in England for about a year, left fo- New Zealand by tho Otranto on Friday.

Miss Mary M. Stephens, of Christchurch, in at presont staying with relatives at Ilford, Later she will visit Scotland, Dr. A. B. Danby, of "Wellington, who has been Obstetric Resident Surgeon, is leaving Guy's Hospital shortly to take up a practice. Mrs. Allan Hopkins,- of Christchurch, with her two daughters, the Misses M. and D. Hopkins, intends staying in England for six» months. Mr. R. J. Alexander, chief engineer of the cable steamer Iris, and Mrs. Alexander, are on a holiday trip to London. They leave on their return for Now Zealand 011 September 25. Miss J. B. Duncan, of Christchurch, has left, London for a tour on tho Continent, and expects to return early in Juno.' Mrs. Erson, widow of Dr. Erson, of Onehunga, who has been travelling with her daughter for several months, 'is- again in London, and leaves on her return to Now Zealand on August 3. Mr. and Mrs. Payne, of Christchurch, who have recently arrived in England, intend going to Ireland and Scotland next month, and after that will tour tho Continent. They expect to be over here for twelve months. The Misses L. M., A.' L., and E. Hill, of Auckland, loft on Saturday on a visit to Cornwall and Devon. Later they go to Scotland, Ireland, Franco, and Switzerland beforo returning to New Zealand at the end of the year. I Mr ; and Mrs. D. O'Reilly, of Hastings, wero met in London 011 their ar-rival-a few days ago by their, daughter, Mrs. Myles Dowley, who is now resident in Clonraell, near Dublin, and with .whom :they • intend-''to'->stay'for'several-weeks. - .

, Mrs. Smeeton, of Auckland, who has .recently arrived in-London,, on-a trip to England and tho' Continent, with liei husband and family, is a delegate to tho World's Convention of Young Women's Christian Associations, which is to bo held at Stockholm in June. Mr. S. J. Nathan, of Auckland, is in London, after spending a week at Bournemouth with Mrs. and Miss Nathan. In. Juno he leaves with Mr. Buckleton .for Paris, where both will act as Auckland delegates at tiic Congress of Chambers of Commerce. Later 011 they intend to tour Scotland and tho Continent. Dr. William Robinson; M.8., 8.5., of Christchurch, has concluded his appointnient of, house physician at Guy's Hospital, and will now be senior* physician for three months, and "president of the residents" at Guy's. Ho hopes lo get some general practico during the summer, and in tho autumn will sit for tho final F.R.C.S. examination. Miss Isobel Forsyth Paterson, the youngest daughter of Mr. A. S. Paterson. a well-known Dunedin resident, was married at St. Margaret's, Westminster, on AVednesday, April 22, to Lieutenant Henry Edward de Parny Rennick, of tho Roval Navv, and youngest.son of the late Major E. F. J. Rennick, B.Sc., and Lady Norman. Tho Rev. Canon Carnegie was the officiating minister. Mr. Arthur Myers. M.P., was the guest of honour at tho dinner of the Macenbean Society at tho Great Central Hotel last week. The Hon. George Fowlds, of Auckland. who arrived 011 April 12. will bo in Europe, till July 22. He loft London on Tuesday for Birmingham, to begin a motoring tour through the Midlands and. Shakespeare's countrv, but returns on May 10 for tho annual meetings of Ihe Congregational Union of England and Wales. The friends 'of Mrs. Garrison, wife of Mr. W, Herbert Garrison, lecturer to the Royal Colonial Institute, will regret to-hear of her death, which took place nt her residence at Battcrsea Park, on Saturday, after a long illness.
