, The first of the series of concerts, in* angivrated hy the Young lien's Christian Association, Wellington, was held in the Y.M.C.A. Concert- Hall on Saturday evening: There was a, large -attendance, and the prograr.tnio was as follows; —Masi«r N. Izeit (pia'uo solo); Mr A. Oakfv (song); Mr. K. E. Shnrney (recitation and rnortokgitej; Mr. F. R. Johnstone ('cello solo, "Rondo," by Roceberini); Miss B. Brittain (song, "Friioro,s.es"); Misses Jlrittain and Chapman and Messrs. Strong and While (qMaftetj "Deny England"); Mr. H. I'ln'pps (sim.i*, "Tho Scent of the Inlies"); Miss (Song, ■Haiti"): Miss Brittain and Mr. Phipps (duet, "Night of Stars").
