The London money market is still in a somewhat uncertain condition, althoußh there is no movement of any consequence in the rates. The Bank of England figures arc not as strong as they wero a year ago. as the proportion of reserve to 'liabilities is now 42.4G per cent., as against 52.27 per cent, twelve months «co. Tho bank rate will scarcely bo raised during the next six weeks, but, if there is any sort of pressure in August, higher votes may be anticipated. Consols dropped 20s. on the week, and several Australian denominations (also Xcw Zealand 3i per cent.) arc lower. This fall, however, is more apparent than real, ae tho quotations given are ex-dividend. If allowance is made for this, there is no change of any consequence.
