When the chiefs vyo-ro usheied into tho , presence* chamber, they approached t>ho throne, cast their robes at'the King's fectj aud knelt to pay their homago. The Chief To Ratunhuta, presented a letter, expressing tho Maoris' loyalty to thf Crown. Tlio King and Queen conversed with the chiefs, ijiid hoped that thefr visit would ho enjoyable and beneficial.
