!•-_ A now potato tailed Al'AhVtpr's Great Scot, imported' from Homo, has been very successfully grown in the Oamaru district, this tcason (says the ".Mail"). Jt resisted the blisht and yielded 10 i tons to the acre, it js a round, white potato, «-md has a good flavour. A North Canterbury farmer is reported to have sold a 'growing crop of 23 acres of white clever to a speculator for £8-1. The buyer harvested the crop in good condition, and got a gross return of £030. The Masterton dairy factory has closed down for the season. The quantity of butter manufactured during the past season was 345,0001b., most of 'which was consigned to London. A considerable quantity of butter is being held in cold storage for local consumption. The butter has been graded at 90. The Richmond Oil Engine is more powerful, more economical, runs easier, and is simpler than anv other. Do you re-, quire proof? Well, the "Richmond" holds tho highest award gained against allcomers.
