A fire at Carnngtori to-day destroyed a five-roomed residence belonging to tho Wellington Education Board, and occupied by Mies Feist, school teacher. It appears that somo clothing was being aired by the iiro, and it is presumed that a spark ignited it. Whon Miss Fast observed the outbreak it was impossible to save anything, the buildup being destroyed, as tho flames spread rapidly, being fanned by _a stiff wind. Miss Feist lost everything! including her piano. The building was a new ono, having only been erected about twelve months ago.
