... NEW DEMANDS FILED. , The dispute between tho New Zealand Federated Woollen Mills Employees Union and'the employers is to be heard heforo the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. P. Hally) on Juno 8. The employees' schedule of demands (jjust filed) asks that 48 hours shall constitute a week's work for males, ami 45 hours for females and boys, and overtime shall be paid for at tho rato of time and a half for tho -first two hours and double tinio thereafter until the ordinary time for commencing work next morning, double time to paid for work done on Sundays and holidays. Tho clause dealing with preference stipulates that employers are at liberty to employ any person whether a member of the union or not, but if a nonunionist is employed ho 'shall join the 1 union within fourteen days after being requested to dp so by.tho secretary. The wages demanded are- as follow:— Boiler and flue cleaners, not less than 2s. nor hour. Youths and boys: 14 to 15 years, los. per week; 15-16; £1; 1647,' £1 ss.'; 17-18, £1 10s. jIS-lf/, £t los.'; 19-20, £2;-20-21, £2 55.; thereafter a minimum wago of £2 14s. Girls: 14 to 15, 10s. per week; 15-16, 135.; 16-17; 165.; 17-18, 225. 6d.; thereafter a weekly wage of£l 15s. Boys and youths on night work: 18 to 19 years, £L-lßs.i 19-20, p 3s-.; 20-21, £2 Bs.; thereafter a minimum of £3 per week. Male workers over tho ago of 21 years employed as wago hands: Tuners, £3 10s. per week; head drawer,' £3 10s.; assistant carders, £3 55.; wool sorter, £3 os.; warpers (male or female), £3 55.; pattern weavers (male or female, liand or power loom), £3; spinners, £3; combers and fettlers, £2 18s.; wool scourer and dyer, £2 18s.; millhouse and dyo-houso hands, £2 18s. ; woolly house, first hand £2 18s.j other hands £2 145.;. and all other workers not governed by an award of tho Court or agDKcmcnt, £2 14s. An increase of 10 per cent, is asked for on tho present wages for pieuc-work. In tho event of any worker tyeing employed on piece-work at the. rato fixed or to bo fixed, such worker shall be paid jiot loss than tho minimum wago fixed by this award for time workers. Pieceworkers employed overtime shall be paid in'addition to their earnings a sum c(iual to half the amount of said earnings. Piece-workers shall bo paid Is. per hour for all waiting time, and timo occupied in cleaning up.. Tho length of warp and price per cut to be clearly stated when tho work is put in tho loom.
