WINTER SPORTS
DATES FOR CHARGES TO CITY . RESERVES. A meeting of representatives of winter sports bodies was held in No. 2 committee room of the Town Hall last night, for the purpose of allocating the dates, upon which charges for admission might bo made to the Basin Reserve and Newtown Park during this 1 season. Tho sports bodies represented were the "Wellington Football Association, Wellington Rugby Union, .Wellington Rugby League, Wellington Lacrosse Association, and tho Wellington Hockey Association. For the Basin Reserve the following dates were agreed onWellington Football Association: June 27, July 25, August 15, August 29. Juno 3 had previously been granted by tho Reserves Committee. Wellington Hockey Association: August 1 (Britain v. Wellington, ladies' match),' September 12 (North Island y. South Island). i.< Wellington Rusjby League: Two dates • to'be fixed for the following games:— Wellington v. England, Wellington v.Auckland. Lacrosse Association: September .5 (Wellington-v. New South Wales). For Newtown Park the dates agreed on were: — Wellington Hookey Association : Date to be fixed at end of August for tho match Wellington v. 'Canterbury. Wellington Rugby League: Dates to be fixed (not to clash with other fixtures ■when admission is charged) for the following games Wellington v. Wangaliui, AVellington v. Canterbury, Wellington v. Hawke's Bay, New Zealand v. England. The Rugby Union did not desiro any dates. • Tho dates agreed on by the delegates will be submitted to the Reserves Committee of the City Council, for ratificaI tioii, on Thursday next.
