CONFERENCE REMITS. (By Telesrapli— Pre:® Association.) Ghristchurcli, May 29. The following remits were carried by the Fanners' Union Provincial Conference :—"That the tariff oil wheat and flour, between New Zealand and Australia, should bo uniform; that it be a recommendation from the conference to local bodies to favourably consider the application of workers for farm labourers' homes; that the Government he asl;<jd to assist settlers in the development of a deposit of lime for agricultural purposes; that in sparseiypopulated country districts, where it is found necessary to subsidise a doctor in order to get him to reside there, the amount of subsidy required should he refunded to the local authority by tiio Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard; that it lie a recommendation to the conference to bring before the notice of the General Manager of Railways the necessity of having a list of consignees posted at all flag stations when a truck, containing miscellaneous goods, is left; that the provincial exocutivo urge upon merchants the necessity for supplying farmers with sacks made of better material, of better workmanship, and of uniform size; that the union import sacks of standard size suitable for all farming/purposes, sacks to be 48 inches by 26} inches; that much benefit might be derived by the farmers if the Farmers' Union could bo induced to open up branches of their labour exchange in country townships."
