FEILDING A. & P. SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the i'cilding A. and P. Association, held'yesterday. An interesting report of tne year's work was ..presented, and tho balancesheet was read and adopted. The election'of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follow:—President, Mr. J. N. I'errett (re-elected unopposed); vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Cobb, E.. Goodbehere, and A. N.- Ongley; treasurer, Mr. F. F. Haggitt; auditors, Messrs. G. H. Maguire and E. J. AVackrill; general epmmittee, Messrs. 11. J. Booth, A. Campbell, F. Boddy, O. Darmer, A. H. Atkinson, N. Gorton, L. Younger, E. A. Twigg, E. A. Eglinton, and J. Morrison. Tho president moved: "That/in view of tho importance of agricultural teaching schools, also tho fact of the' increasing demand for agricultural education, which requires greater facilities for tho teaching of the subject, tho time is now ripe for establishing residential: .agricultural high schools, whero the teaching of practical and theoretical agriculture can best be carried out." ' ; Mr. licthbridge seconded tho motion, which was most enthusiastically received by the members, and carried unanimously. . ' Tho trophies won at the rocent. show, and at tho Almadale Agricultural Camp were presented. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. O. A. Banner for his valuable instruction, and the interest ho had taken .in tho Almadale camp, and'.for the particularly good work he had done in agricultural instruction in the Feilding district. ;Mr.: Gordon H.'Roach has been appointed secretary and treasurer of the Hawke's Bay Fruit Growers' Association; vice* Mr. G. Masters, who is going to England,to study for the Anglican ministry. "
