THE KING'S THEATRE. _ Sonio Wry fuse pictures of tlw big Territorial camp at Hautapu, in the Auckland district, figure prominently in the new progratamo which was screened for the la-st time at the King's Theatre last evening. Tho opening scene is a panorama ot tho camp—a mile and a Mi.irtor_.Qf tented lines--and other sections ot the picture show tho momnncl infantry and Hold artillery at work, the troops manoeuvring, and the review by Sir lon Hamilton. The principal item in the second half of the p™. gramme is a drama, entitled "Threads ofi Destiny." The story is that- of an elderly millionaire named Giles Webster, \vl» arranges to have a false report spread that tie is dead, ami conceals himself in a secret room of his fmus-e, in order thai ho may test his heirs, a young doctor named Halo Webster, and a handsome ividovy named Stella Grigshy. The heirs are,told t-ha-t Giles .Webster's money is left to them provided they marry. At first they ate not uuwillirsg. but the young doctor presently becomes enamoured of a pretty circus rider, and decides to give up his legacy in order to marry tho Woman he loves, Sis co-heir is furious at being deserted, and plots with an Italian ringmaster against; the life of Dr. Webster's pretty sweetheart. I?rom this point the story develops ii'i.terestiagly through a ohain <if -exciting'incidents. In the end, just retribution -descends on the plotters, snd the old millionaire, f.-ho Ims. been lending a« attontive ear, rn his hiding-place, to the march of events, emerges in time to. assist j« bringing the evildoers to justice, and makes young Dr. Webster his heir. Tho other pictures inokided in the. pw(jramTO* are also of excellent qnajity. The beautiful islands of the Grecian Archipelago are pictured in a series of fiiie scenic studies, and a film entitled "Sow Flowers Awaken" shows sortie •lovely aarde-rj fkwers developrog from the btid to maturity. Transformations which occupy weeks In nature are effw.ted on the seree-fi in the space of a few seconds, and oharmingly beautiful studies' resalt. "Tiic Tale of a Cat" is a > pict«r«-cemcdy which provoked tirtrparioas laughter, and " A Stage-Door I f iirt,\t«m" _ is anoth'er picture in the same class. Other items are "The Elusive Diamond," an exciting drama, and the "(kumont Graphic,"' an entertaiiiing ■assortmeiit of tonteal items.
