On January 28, of 1913, 23 Finnish officials of 'the Supreme Court at Viborg wero sentenced' to 16 months' imprisonment, and disqualified for 10 years from holding office, for resisting tho law equalising tlio status of Fiiius and Russians in Finland. They havo now been released, Tho whole population of Viborg turned out to wclcomo tho released prisoners, who wero accorded a great ovation. Tho mounted gendarmes severely flogged tho demonstrators, and arrested twenty of them, apparently for unlawful cheering. ■
