A letter'was received by the Hutt Borough Council last evening from the Minister of Justice (tho Hon. A. L. Hordmaiil ui reply to the council's recent comment on the aliened inadequacy'of linos imposed in tho Magistrate's Court ior breaclies of borough by-laws by motorists. Tho Minister stated that the council's complaint had been referred io tho Under-Secretary of Justice, who would bring it under tlio notieo of magistrates. The letter was received. Some 182,400 farthings lave ' hcen received in response to nn appeal for farthin?s towards the cost of a church hall at St. Peter's, Kingston-on-Thames.
