The Rev. Joshua Jones, of St. James's Church, Lower Hutt, retires' from the ministry at the end of June, after twenty-eight years' active service, -and it is understood that be intends, to reside in Marion. At a meeting held in St. James's Hall last evening, ■presided over by Mr. F. J. J>e Olore, a strong committee was set »p (Mr. D, M. Yeats being appointed secretary) to make arrangements, with a view to recognising in a suitable manner Mr. Jones's work as vicar of the parish.
