The barque kid previously been reported on fire, at sen, twelve miles west of Mount Hcomskirk. Tho. Svonor was en route from Fremantlo to Newcastle in ballast, and when twenty-two days out tho ballast shifted, and tho vessol was thrown on her bortm (aula. Her masts were, cut awav, and shedrifted for neatly a fortnight, till sighted by tho Waimij. An attempt to tew tho barque to port failed, and it was decided to abandon lior. Prior to leaving the vessel, in order to prevent'her being a clanger to navigation, tho Svonor was scuttled; and then set on lire. The crow left in boats, and were picked up by the- Wainui.
