In consequence of tho announcement that a deputation of Suffragettes would visit Buckingham Palaco to-day, tlio neighbourhood of tho Palaco presented tho appearance of a camp. The polico surrounded tho building two deep, with a ring of bayonets, and behind tlicm was. another forco of one thousand polico in readiness.

In tho prosonco of many thousands of people, tho Suffragettes mado their charge on tho Palace. It was a fiasco. A little band of women, headed by Mrs. Pankhurst, Miss Sylvia Pankhurst, and Mrs. Tuke, quitted tlio crowd, and rushed towards tho polico cordon on the top of Constitution Hill. Mrs. Pankhurst was' Seized and placed iii a taxicab, tho while shouting: "That's right I Arrested at gates of tho Palaco. Tell the King." ' I Miss Sylvia Pankhurst was removed to Holloway Prison. , • Thoro was much hand-to-hand fighting, and sovoral police were injured. Some of tho women threw white and green, colouring matter over the polico. . Forty-two women and three men wore arrested. THE "DOOR-STEPPERS."' (Rec. May 22, 11 p.m.)' London, May 22. Mrs. Druramond has been released after hunger-striking. Despite her •weakness.sho refused to go to a nursing homo, but went instead to Mr. M'Kenna's (Homo Secretary) house and sat on liis doorstep, where tho polico rearrested her. Tho police raided a house in Maida Vale and arrested fivo women, and also seized important documents and many bags containing flints and hammers. It is' believed that a window-smashing campaign -was proposed as a protest against Mrs. Panklmrst's arrest.
