At last night's meeting of the Wauganui Boroiigh Council a letter was read from Mr. J. A. Noame, written at Florence, stating that he and. Airs. Neamo had spent part of tlio money available for tho Sarge'ant Art Gallery in purchasing a very fine copy of the "Madonna Delia Scggiola" (Raphael), the original cf which hangs isi the Pat.ti Gallery at Florence, and.also a marble copy of the famous Greek sculpture, "TSie Wrestlers." The picture is expected to arrive in \Vangamii shortly, and the statue early next year.
The Finance.
