LABOUR HARD PRESSED
WEST AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS. By Telegraph—Pr«s3 Ateociatlon-OoDjrieM Perth, May 21. The elections resulted in Labour being defeated in every province. It is computed that Labour also lost one sent previously hold. The new Country Party obtained two scats, but failed to displace any retiring Liberal member.
NEW TRADES UNION PARTY IN POLITICS. FIRST INSTALMENT OF ITS PROGRAMME. Sydney, May 21. The new Trades Union Political Party has issued tho first instalment of its programme. Amongst tho planks are a forty-four hour week and a minimum wage of sixty shillings, and a referendum on the question of the abolition of the Legislative Council.
