WAIKATO WINTER SHOW

These figures exceed those of any other show by 1.500. With' the additional buildings erccted, tho total space is now 50,000 square feet. Many applications had to be re-' fused. The Huntervile branch of the Xew Zealand Farmers' Union is endeavouring to have freezing works established at Mangaonoho. It is considered that works in that locality will serve a very big district, in which there are moro than four times tho number of sheep required to keep a freezer supplied. A meeting of farmers will be held at Huutervillo" on Saturday to consider the proposal. ■ • The weather during the past fortnight lias been exceptionally had. A week of light misty rain was supplemented by a heavy downpour on Sunday morning, and sine'e then thero has been p reversion to the weather experienced carlv last'week. There has been a heavy fall of snow in the high country, and the weather continues cold.
