At the Conference of the Provincial Fanners' 'Union to-night it was resolved that the Glovcnuiiciio should be urged to watch carefully the operations of meat am! other trusts in i\ew Zealand. One member stated tliat the meat trust was at present established in Australia, and there was good reason to believe that it has come to New Zealand, "but thero is jio reason to tear trust operating merely in trade," he added. "In fact, we want them. So long as tlicv do not take over tho control of our freezing works 110 harm will be done. Once they do that the couiitry'will bo in deadly danger. No legislation would remedy this state of affairs, but the diflicuity could be overcome only farmers themselves. Let tliem be loyal to their own companies at any cost, and all ivould.be well."
