There are also graphic descriptions of tho second voyago, including a reference to tho Antarctic, saying where- tho writer is now sure that no southern continent exists thcro, unless it is so near tho Polo that tho coast cannot bo navigated, because of tho 1 ice, and therefore is not worth discovery.
Lieutenant Ralph Clarke's diary was written, during a voyage to Botany Bay, and is prefaced by a list of convicts, named, on board the transport Friendship, with full -particulars of each._ Horrible entries, describing tho lashing of boy convicts, appear in tho journal.
