'•'■ THE BROOKLYN CLUB. The raw south-east wind which was at times accompanied by the still more unpleasant siieets of blinding rain, did not prevent the Brooklyn Harriers from holding their weekly run on Saturday afternoon, The trail layers were I?. Harvey and 1\ Wilton, who trailed aiv excellent course over tmo cross-country. Starting from Russell's Tea Rooms, Karori. Road, through Ci'eskwiek, via ihe Old Karori Road, passing the deviation, and up through Karori until the go it' links were reached. The pack then headed towards Karori Park, and a turn was then made (or home via. the ] load. In all, about six miles were j covered. The pack was controlled by the deputy-captain, while F. Harlen acted as whipper-in. The run-in resulted in J. O'Neill Jjuiniuir, place, with two promising novices, N. Cummins'slid C. Willis, 'finishing second and third respectively, a yard separating the first three men. The nolivo handicap will be decided at Minimal- next Saturday afternoon, for which fair entries have hr-eii received, Mr. P. Harvey has dnnßt<vl a wild modal for the first in the handicap. The ordinary c-'mb nm will be held also. OSA'MPIC CIA'B. The Olympic Harriers held (heir novice handicap at Miramar on Saturday over a course of about one ami tliiwquarter miles. The race resulted in a. win for a very promising youth, J. Sullivan, off the 70sec. mark. C, flvrnr being second, off aOs-ec., finishing three, seconds behind the first man. J. Bigg, from scratch, attained third place, and Sained the fastest time, covering the distance in JSmSn Usee. The inn next Saturday takes place from Island Way, when tiioy will lie/"wests of Mr. A. THE CENTRAL CLUB. On Wednesday last the Central Harriers hold a run from Thormkin Baths, a 1-argo number of members taking Tiart. Captain C, 11. Duck took rfiarge. and led the pack along the Hntt Road' to the bridle-path to Khandoliah, whence the trail led over the hills to tho JTntt Koad, and a fast run-in took place. Duck and Hodge making a dead best of first place, with Alclridge niid IJowtad close up. The next outing takes place' from Mirnwar, when the club's' three-mile handicap will b» decided.
