BOWLS
THE LYALL BAY CLUB. On Friday, at the Church Hall, Maranui, tho Lyall Bay Bowling Club celebrated the close of its second year with a social evening. About 80 persons were present, and all spent a most enjoyable time. The hall was festooned with the club colours, and decorated with palms, while on the stage members' bowls were arranaged in a neat device. Dancing was indulged in until a late hour, Mr. C. Jones acting as M.C. Refreshments were provided by a ladies' committee, consisting of Mesdsmes Ashton, Morrah, Critchley, Jones, and Stone. During the evening, Mr. Stansell presented Mr. AV. H. Morrali _ witli a bowler's kit, and a case of pipes, as a 'recognition of his services as secretary of the club. It is worthy of note that although only in tho second j - ear of its existence, the" Lyall Bay Club has registered some capital performances against formidable oppoaonts from somo of the older clubs.
