Tho tender of tho first engine hit tho corner of tho second engine, which was a small one, crushing tho tender in against tho firebox Unci boiler, and terribly mutilating fireman David Donovan, whoi must havo been killed instantly. Tho driver escaped injury. It is. not clear how the accident happened. Both engines carried lights. Donovan was a married man, with oneyoung child.
