BOXING
WELLINGTON 'ASSOCIATION. ' Mr. E. W. M'Villy presided at last night's mooting of tho Management Committee of the Wellington Boxing Association, and there wero also present: Messrs. D. R. Hoggard, W. W. Cook, H. D. Smith, N. Coffoy, C. E. Bridge, J. E. Staples. F. Galo, W. A. Fordham, B. A. Guise (hon. treasurer); and W. G. Tnlbot (hon. secretary).
Intimation was recoived from Mr. W. Beauchamp-Platts that ho might not bo ablo to officiate as reforeo on tlio nights of the provincial amateur championships. In the event of his being unablo to do so, Mr. Bridge was appointed emergency referee, and Mr. Smith emergoncy judge. Mr. W. P. Redgrave wrote from Foxton stating that there was a movement on foot 'to form a boxing association there, and inquiring as to the necessary steps to bo taken,
The secretary was directed to communicate with Mr. Redgrave.
Applications for matches wore received from Alfred Goodwin, light-weight (Melbourne), from Frank Ellis (formerly of Wellington), and from Fred Kerr (Christchurch). Tho applications wero noted. It was decided that the charges for admission to the Ilegarty-O'Grady contest next month should be tho same as for tho Hegarty-Keys match. The preliminaries for this match are to ho three three-minuto rounds. In view of the largo entries received for tho Provincial Championships next week, it was decided that the contests should' start at 7.30 each cvoning.
