Tho Right Hon. W. F. Massey (Primp Minister), according to a Press Association messago from Gisborne, , wont up tho East Coast lino yesterday as far as Matawai, and received numerous deputations. Ho returned to Gisborno in tho evening, and left by tho Monowai for Napier. Ho will reach Wellington this evening. Tho Hon. W. H. Herries is at Grcymouth, and tho Hon. Dr. Pomaro at Auckland, whence ho -will sot out next week for the Cook Islands. The other Cabinet Ministers are in Wellington. The Hon. Jas. Allen will leavo Wellington next week to attend cadet inspections at Palmerston North, Wanganui, and other towns.
Captain Foljambe, left for Sydney, en route to India, by the Maunganui yesterday.
General Sir lan Hamilton is to arrive horo on Thursday. He will inspect the forts, and also Dβ present at tho big gun shooting on Friday. On Saturday he will inspect tho cadets.. On Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock ho is to bo accorded a civic reception.
Archbishop Redwood left for Sydney by tho Maunganui yesterday. Brigadior-Gonoral Ellison, Chief Staff Officer to Genera,! Sir Inn Hamilton, arrived hero from tlie north yesterday. Hβ .was accompanied by Colonol Heard. Major'Hughes returned to Wellington from the north yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Justice Edwards will leave Wellington on Monday to presido at tho. Supremo Court sittings opening at New Plymouth on Tuesday.
Lord Deninan, the retiring GovernorGeneral of Australia, and Lady Denman sailed for London by, tho Orvieto yesterday.—Press Association.
Mr. J. B. Hino, M.P., who has been on a brief visit to Wellington, returns to Stratford, to-day.
Mr. W. Nosworthy, member for Ashburton, is on a visit to Wellington.
Mr. C. E. Matthews, of tho Justice Department, was a passenger by tho Maunganui for Sydney yesterday.-
Mr. R. Renai, of tho Greytown branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has received word of his transfer to Mannia. Ho will leave Groytown in the early part of next week
Mr. H. R. Fishery of Tua Marina, hae been elected as the- representative for Marlborough at tho meeting of the New Zealand Educational Institute to be held in Wellington in July.
Mr. H. L. Young, of Palmerston / North, is on a business visit to Wellington. ■ ■ ..
Dr. T. D. M. Stout has returned from Masterton, where he has been acting as locum tenensfor Drs. Hoskings' and Cook during their absence at Takapau camp.
Miss Maud Allan and the three Chernjavskys left for the south by tho Wahino last evening. .
Mr. F. F. Munro, who has just been re-elected to tho chairmanship of the Westport Harbour Board, is at present in Wellington, on business connected with liis board. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. He is. accompanied by Mrs. Muuro. •

Canon Garland left for tho eouth by tho Wahinb last evening.
Captain J. Henry, tho newly-appoint-ed inspector of tho Society for the Prevention of Cruelty; to Animals, of Wellington, will tako up his duties to-day. Captain Henry was for twenty years in the British Army, sevon of which wore served in a cavalry regiment. Ho went through tho,last South- African | campaign, and^rnco,'t , lidn l tho 7 position of Police Inspector in a town in South Africa- For the past four years he has been engaged 'in farming pursuits in New Zealand. t Tho new inspector lias a comprehensive knowledge of the horse and its ailmonte. Captain Henry enjoys a military pension owing to his long service in the Army.
