SAILORS' FRIENDLY SOCIETY

There was a .large audience at tho bailors Friend Society last evening, when Mr. R. lteunor provided-an enjoyable concert. Mr.. James Moore, mi'ssioner, occupied the chair. The iollow* ing contributed items to the programme: Misses Clapshaw Talbot, Messrs. Ren-= ncr, Bates (s.s. Muritai), and Hiegins (s.s. Kia Ora). Miss Talbot- and Mr. Bates played the accompaniments. Mr. Higgins.was the winner oi a most amusing conundrum competition, and Mr, Jones rendered several gramaphoae selections, which were, mucil appreciated. A ]iearty voto of'thanks was ac-coredd tho performers at the conclusion of the concert.
