A case presenting sensational side features was before the tJoaffc to-day, when Leslie Lionel Grant, a youthful postal employee, Geor-go Augustus" Smith, who recently arrived from England with an invalid father, f. Spencer, and A. Billings, travelling ' showman, were charged with breaking and entering certain premises by night, The'Fouse that was entered was that of the officer in charge of the Postal Savings Bank Department, who possessed tho keys of the strong-room, ■ which contained a large su.ra of money, ■Equipped with electric torches, the four men visited the resilience. at midnight, and entered the room by a window. They secured thirty shillings, but Werefoiled in their endeavour toseeuro the keys. Though one woto indianA-her shoes, and the others, entered barefooted, they made a noise, awakening the occupants of the room. The latter endeavoured to seize the robbers, tfho tied. A,surprising development of the case was that the tw<! mo-ro yo-tithful participants planned the burglary, and "induced the elder ones to }oin, The men pleaded guilty, nncl were committed to tho Supreme Cotirt fat sentence.
