THE' MID-WEEK GAMES. ■ Improved form was shown in tho Wednesday hoctey games this week. Ail tho wins wore substantial ones,, tlumgn, in two of the gnnies, this did not detract from the quality of the play. PAKKHA-ItAMBLERS A. Pakoha v. Ramblers A was a good ga-me, and, after a stubborn fight, .U-aii!-lilers left the field defeated by 8 goals ir, I. T)?e winners' vanguard combined well, and showed greater experience in goal-Retting than their opponents. On occasions Ramblers attacked, and, during one of these sorties, Griffiths scored. Shwran was responsible for the «;iilners' suitstantial total of points. Mr. J. C. Ctisack w,as referee. PETONE—HUI MAI. In many' respects this game, which was played -at Petone, was similar t<) < the preceding match. X'ctono came off victors by 8 goals to one.
