IMPORTANCE OF EAST COAST , LINE. (By Telegnpli.—Prose Association.) Cisborne, May 14. The Right Hon. \V. F. Massey was accorded a civic welcome to-day. 'Hβ received deputations this morning, and was entertained at luncheon by local bodies at midday. Referring to tho East Coast railway, ho said it was probably the most important line under construction at tho present time. The Government proposed to ask Parliament to do full justice to it in the Estimates for the ensuing year. He indicated that the Government would purchase an area of Native land around LakeWaikaremoana in order to preserve the bush.
