. _ Tlio Wellington District Hospital Committee- met yesterday afternoon, • Mr. J. Smith presiding, Other, menjb'ors present were: Dr.l'latts-ilills, the ,. Rev. W. A. Evans. Mftssi'g. D. Camp. >11, H. Baldwin, i\ Castle, H. Freeman, W. Galloway, B. R. Gardener, G. J. Petherick, and D. Robertson. ' Mr. John Smith was re-elected eliairmau for the ensuing year. Messrs. Smith (diaiVinaii), Baldwin, Castle, M'Ewan, Nasli, Pethcrict, Robertson, and Dr. Platts-Mills were' elected to a House Committee. It was decided ta recommend t-o the board that the following shall 'coiistituto tho Otaki Committee:—Messrs. Gardener, Freeman, and Galloway, tho chairman of the board, awl the Hospital Committee, and the treasurer. It was decided to' recommend the, board to remit all charges for csamina-' tions madft by tho Bactoriolegtcal Department in real charity cas&s! 9 It was resolved that Sir. F. de Cfer© bo authorised to proceed with the preparation of the plans in collection with the new kitchen bleak and new ward, and'that the plans be submitted to the Minister of Public Health for confirmation. On the recommendation of the medical superintendent, Messrs , , Tyrce and Healey, of _the staff, are to lie taught motor driving, and- are to be paid an extra shilling per diem for services in connection with driving the- ftcw motor ambulance van. The fortnightly returns of patients treated from April 28 to May U are as follow, the figures, for tho saw© period last year being givttt in paventhnsos:—• Admitted, 127 (Hi); discharged. 130 (loo)'; still in the'institution,.3l2'(272). Tho statistics of.patteßts treated at tho Otaki Hospital and Sanatorium for the month of April aye as follow:—Hospital, admitted 10, discharged 15. under treatment 10; sanatorium, admitted 1, discharged 3, Hurler treatment 23.
