Dawson (secretary of tho alliance) informed a reporter yesterday that a cablegram wa.s'expected' to arrive to-day which would finally settle whether Mr. and Mrs, SiwwdeH would bo coming or not. Mr. Dawson added that Mr. S-nowden had agreed to come, but that one contingency tad arisen which niifiht interfere with 'the plans that had boon made. In any case, today's cablegram would settle tlm matter. If nothing interferes with their trip it is expectcd that' Mr. and Mrs. Snowdsn will reach New Zealand in September. Mr. Snmvjfen, wha.is one of the foremost Socialist leaders of the day, and an ardent temperance advocate, is also accounted one of the best orators in Great Britain.
