CANADIAN-AUSTRALIAN STEAMER. SERVICE. By Telegraph—Press Aseoeiation-Copyri&lit Vancouver, May 12. Mr. Denham, Premier of Queensland, interviewed here, said that lie regretted tho abandonment of Brisbane by tho Canadian-Australian line. It was now too expensive to send freight from Sydney for Canada, and a growing reciprocal trade- was thus lost. Referring to the sugar industry, ho said that he did not think the abolition of tho sugar duty by tho United States Government would affect the Queensland industry. Ho also discussed the question ' of military training as applied to Australia, and said that he thought the system admirable.
