SILVER TELLURIDE MINES OF NEW ZEALAND. Recognising the importance of good management in a company's affairs, great, care, it is reported, has been taken to pia<jo tho Now Zealand Silver Tellurfcic Mines in capable hands. When the promoters. of the Ohiiwniitri Go-Id and Silver Mines, Ltd., had received the report on the mines by Mr. E. F. Adams, and had carefnllj* investigated its mants, tb-ey lost no time in securing his services as mine superintendoslt and engineer. Although Mr. Adams has had.' for 25 years intimate knowledge of,all the mines on the Haurdki Peninsula., and knows, the geology of the country as well as any man alive,' ho took nothing; for. granted'when making his report, ml this Silver-stream reefs, but.occupied two months in carefully surveying the laud, investigating the character of tho. reefs and carefully sampling and assaying so as to present complete and first-band information to lay before the directors. . - Ho has the reputation of being a man who will never over-estimate anything. As'an instance of this, he sots down' tho cost of winning the killi;oii at £2 per ton of ore in a mine where tho haulage and drainage will bo by gravitation, whereas tho actual costs in mines whore everything has to be raised from, great depths is 38s. to 395. pet ton (.vide Talisman reports).' Another matter of importance is the Board of Directors. In this instance tho promoter has- not rushed matters, bathos left two scats to bo occupied by leading men of sound business reputation, who ate investigating tho matter. Their names will bo announced innncdiately they are- appointed. It is hoped to build up a good reserve on the same lines as has-been 'adopted' by tho Waihi Gold Mining Company, instead'of adopting tho custom of distributing all as mm miiio yields it, and trusting to.-iack for the- rest. • The articles of association have been fr-nmed so as to prevent the directors trim selling the company's pwperty unless by the consent of tho- shareholders in general .mooting. ■ ■ Tho shareholders' interests hate been carefully safc-giumled, as' the promoter looks upon this as an investment eoncorn, rather than as a speculative one. ■Complete and illustrated prospectuses can li'p obtained from any branch of tho National Bank of Nov.- Zealand, or from the sccrolarv of broker (Mr. David Wliyto, Hustings. Havvkc's Bay).
