REPLY TO "NISI DOMINUS."

Sir,—Beferring to Mr. Jjeary and me in your issue of "May B,'"Nisi Uominus" writes'as follows:—"In an ftgregsously illaudabk ai.temi)t by two Hadlickl Hostel guests to expeso the liead of their institution as a target for the wits of their professors, they demanded an answer to tijrCii? pointless questions. But the guests, suffering from pique, furiously determined to move Acheron and at- once proceeded to'attack tho Church, the Bible, and Christianity in .the interests of the so-called Defeiic*; League." la this wonderful outburst "Nisi Dβmintis" embodies a greater number of mis-statements titan I have hitherto eou* ceived possible in so brief a space. "Nisi Dominns" holds mo .responsible for all Afr. Leary's opinions , and statements. Sir, I did not ask throe questions; I asked one question. Mr. Leary "asked three other'.questions. I do. not think li-i-s questions were "pointless," but I decline to be made responsible- for all tho opinions of all my friends. I did not SHbsequently attack Christianity, I did not attack the. Bible, I did not attack the Englftk Church, save on ono occasion and then only in reference to its attitude on the J3ib.le-in-schools question. If "Nisi Do-minus" has one spark of .controversial koJiesty he will make some attempt to answer the Mlowjng questions: (1) To what extent should oho man bft held responsible for the' statements of another?
