Advices from Berlin announce the iion-reneiv.il after 1914 of annual permits enabling French residents to sojourn in Alsace-Lorraine. This is interpreted as an intention 011 the part of the Stattholder (Governor) to rid tho province of those considered undesirablo politically. FOREICN OFFICE RESERVED. NO GENERAL WITHDRAWAL. (Rec. May 8, 11.15 p.m.) Berlin, May 8. The Foreign Office is reserved regarding the non-renewal of permits, and sugthat there will be no general withdrawal of permits, but individual expulsions. The French population of Alsace-Lor-raine is about eleven thousand. INDICNATION IN PARIS. PROPOSED RETALIATION. (Rec. May 8, 11.15 p.m.) Paris, May 8. Tho news has caused a wayo of indignation.. The proposals for reprisals include tho expulsion of Germans from Paris. As they number hundreds ol thousands, this would precipitato a crisis. '
