At tho annual meeting of the Terrace School, the Rov. W, J. Comrie presiding, there was a largo attendance of householders, many ladies being present. ■ The election of the incoming committee resulted in three ladies being chosen. The annual report stated that the average attendance was G23— tho roll boing . increased from 640 to i 700 in tho last quarter.. The inspectors' reports showed that tho high standard of' the school had been wall maintained, nnd tho committeo expressed their appreciation of the good work accomplished by tho headmaster and staff. The report further stated that whilo tho committee recognises tho valuo of for#sgljopl. children, they..wero-' r of,vopinion ; fthat there ,was a 'danger of. too much 'timo and attention being allotted to tho carrying, out of this part of the school's curriculum, antl they wero strongly of opinion'/that'the ordinary, school time should not bo interfered with more than .was absolutely necessary. During tho past two j-cars tho school's Rugby football team won the schools' championship. Various matters concerning the health ,of. the school. were discussed, and it was decided to have the school thoroughly cleaned' by a vacuum process.
