EXTENSION LOOP COMMENCED. During the past summer considerable inconvenience lias been frequently caused at the tramway terminus .at Lyall Bay through the lack of facilities to handle the heavy traffic. This is to , bo remedied to a very great extent by on extension to the present lino in tho form of a big loop. The work has been planned for some time, but the Order-in-Council was only approved by tho Public Works Department yesterday, and simultaneously a start was made with tho work. Tho loop will consist of about 10 chains of track. This .will extend round tho corner of Onepu Road, run westward along Lyall Parado to the Queen's Drive; follow that, street as far as Rua Street, and return to the Parado by way of that street. -
