CONCLUDING DAY. (By Tolcgrast.—Press Association.? Blenheim, May 7. Tho Marlborough R.C. Meeting was brought to a close to-day. Thero was a slight shower in the forenoon, and the air was raw Towards the close of the meeting rain set in. When the last race wa's run it was getting on towards dark, owing to a bolt round the course' on tho part of Hoopoe and the fractious behaviour of two other starters. There was a good attendance, and several interesting finishes were seen. Tho totalisator handled £7755, making £15,308 for the meeting against £16,552 for the autumn- meeting last year. • I. DEAD HEAT IN THE CUP. 1 (By Telcßrajih.—Pres6 Association.) tu . ~ Ashburton, May 7. -The Ashburton County Racing Club's Autumn Meeting opened in gloomy, though fine weather. After the third iace, light ram commenced, but there hoio only two,or three showers, and the racing was not in any way' interfered with. ■ The coursc was in fairly Kood order, but it becauio a trifle holding as the day wore on. There were K°°d fields, thirty-four accepting and eighteen starting in one race. Tho staKos-for the meeting were again in. 1 i°! n ottered last year, to tfaJU, while a new stewards' stand and other improvements were in use for the hrst time. The attendance was very laige, and the totalisator-receipts aggregated £10,005 10s., as against £9033 on the first day of last year's Autumii Meeting.
