PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A meeting of the Pctono Borough Council was held last ovening. Tho Wharf Committee reported having carefully considered the question of obtaining coal over the Pctone Wharf, and retailing sam© to tho residents and district, and recommended as follows. — That unscreened household coal be sold at tho gasworks, Petonc, at tho following prices-.—Loose coal at 255. per ton, at l - 2s. Gd. per half-ton, at Gs. 3d.- per quarter-ton; in cwt. bags, 275. per ton, 13s. 6d. per half-ton; 6s. od. per quar-ter-ton, Is. od. per cwt. Bags returnable, or to be charged for extra at the rate of Cd. each.—The report was adopted.
