WHERE BLIZZARDS ARE COMMON
AMONG THE GLACIERS OF NORWAY By Teleßraph—Press Association—Copyricbt (Rec. May 6, 10.30 p.m.) London, May 6.. Sir Ernest Shackleton and five members of his Antarctic Expedition aro going to Norway among tho glaciers, where blizzards similar to those of the Antarctic regions arc common. They will test the motor sledges, wear polar kits, and exist on sledging rations. Tho vessel Endurance, which arrives in London this month, is a beautiful specimen of wooden ship-building. The Aurora will bo delivered at Hobart at the" end of August, and will sail for tho Antarctic in November. Most of tho members of the expedition will sail by tho Endurance- in August. In. February it wns stated that Sir Ernest Shackleton had decided to. purchaso the recently-built Norwegian ice vessel Polaris'for his forthcoming Polar expedition. The vessel was to bo converted to use oil fuel, ami renamed the Endurance. She-.will be employed in tho Weddell Sea. • Tho Auroa was selected for the work in the Ross Sea."_ The Endurance will be manned by Navy men, anil the Ross Sea ship by merchant service men.
