GENERAL HAMILTON AND LADYSMITH
•■'•■■ a suggestion: (To the Editor.) Sir,—l would like, as an ox-Imperial soldier, who .'served in the 7th Brigade under General Sir lan Hamilton in the defenco of Ladysmitli, to ask through your columns whether there are_ any other men in the Wellington district who took part in that defence. If, as I presume, there are a sufficient .number,' I would suggest we hold a meeting and arrange some function, at which the General could meet those who .served under him in that memorable sieee. _ It is not likely that the General will visit New Zealand again, and it would be n pity to miss this opportunity of bringing men who served in'the defence of Ladysmitli together, and to meet their lato General.—l am. etc., . - JOHN CASSIDT, Lato Leicester Regiment. Upper Hutt, May 6.
