CHARGE OF ESPIONAGE
GERMANS IN TROUBLE. By Telegraph—Pr««» Association—Oonyriefcl Berlin, May 1. The German balloonist detained by tho Russian authorities on a charge of espionage, is named Berliner. With two companions he landed at Perm on February 10. The threo have now been sentenced to six months' solitary confinement for obtaining plans of torpedo construction and description of forts. There is indignation in Germany, where it is believed tho flight over the irontier was accidental. The following message from Berlin was published on April 11-.-"The newspapers stato that the Kaiser has written to the Tsar a personal letter regarding the aeronaut who was recently detained at Perm on a chargo of espionage, after a record balloon voyage from Germany. The. Kaiser requests tho Tsar to do his best to speedily close an unpleasant incident." ■ /
