AMBULANCE SATURDAY
COLLECTIONS TO-DAY. To-day is "Ambulance Saturday." The festival is not on any calendars, but the friends of the St. John Ambulance Association in 'Wellington will contrive to make passers-by in the streets aware that, it is a festival which they are expected to observe. Ladies ivill post themselves at suitable- resting and hurrying places in the streets of tho city to bsset everybody who has upcji him tiso appearance of even the most modest wealth, and "mostly they will relievo him of some of it.' Th# cause is generally admitted to be a. worthy one, ami a special appeal is being Made today because owing to the strike no collection lias been taken up for eislitcen months. The headquarters of the collecting organisation for the day is No. 1 Committee Room at the Town Hall. ■
