' The Hons o of Lords Oonimittfo appointed to'inquire', into the circuinbtances_ surrounding the investment by theses-Chief Liberal Whip, Lord Murray of Elibank, of party funds in American Marconi shares, states, in its report, that tho purchase of the shares was :t grave error. It was tho plain duty of Lord Murray to acquaint tho now Chief Whip (Air. ilnngwortb) of tho purchase for tiio Party Funds, and ho should also have submitted the information to tho House of Commons Coimnitteo. The charges in connection with tho investment of the Party Funds in railway stocks are hold to bo groundless. Nothing iu the charges reflected o« tho personal honour of Lord Murray. Tire committee recommends that there should henceforth bo an inflexible rule against public offers indulging in speculations.
