Representative Smith (Maryland), it} the House of Representatives, introduced a resolution agreeing on the United States' behalf to tho transfer of southeastern Alaska to Canada, provided that Great Britain agreed to allow the repeal of the Hay-Pauncefote Treaty. . The mover said that ho had previously favoured the transfer of the Alaska district in order to celebrate tho 'hundred years' peace between Great Britain and America. He did not think that his resolution had any chanco of adoption.
